Our founders began Bushwick Grind after the realization that there were few places to sit down for a cup of coffee in Brooklyn, New York. Now, our community-focused coffee shop offers our customers fantastically brewed cups of specialty coffee and freshly made entrees that are out of this world.


Growing up on Long Island but frequently visiting her grandmother in Bushwick, founder Kymme Williams noticed very few places in the neighborhood to sit down for a coffee cup. She and her husband Raymond started Bushwick Grind to give the local community a great coffee house with a welcoming atmosphere and superb coffee. 


The shop officially opened in April 2015, but our journey began about a year earlier when we made several trips to Portland, Oregon's American Barista Coffee School, to master the art of the perfect cup of coffee. While there, we networked with local coffee shops and learned everything we could. At Bushwick Grind, we proudly serve coffee made with beans from Counter Culture Coffee Roasters, who work with local coffee farmers all over the world and ensure that their partners receive fair wages.

Our goal is to serve the highest-quality coffee possible, so we pay attention to every detail, down to using a 50-gallon filtration system to ensure that our shop's water quality matches that of the beans. We offer baked goods made fresh every morning, and a rotating selection of breakfast and lunch items, including several vegetarian and vegan options. 


Upstate New York farms supply our dairy products and honey, and our health-conscious menu includes gluten-free options.
